This consignment of weapons includes anti-personnel landmine 'Nipun', landing attack craft for operations in Pangong Tso lake, infantry combat vehicles and many other weapon systems. Indigenously made laser-guided anti-tank missiles successfully tested

The missiles hit with precision and successfully destroyed the targets at two different ranges, officials said, adding the telemetry systems have recorded the satisfactory flight performance of the missiles. The all-indigenous laser-guided ATGM employs a tandem High Explosive Anti-Tank warhead to defeat Explosive Reactive Armour protected armoured vehicles.
Army intensifies modernisation drive with focus on surveillance, night fighting

The Indian Army, in its modernisation drive, is focusing on long-range weapons, night fighting capabilities, multi-capacity drones, and early detection and targeting systems. As per the latest figures, as many as 93 modernisation projects of the Army are at various stages with procurement worth Rs 1.37 lakh crore ($18.4 billion) under progress. Further with the emphasis on indigenisation, 19 out of 22 new procurements in the current financial year are made from indigenous suppliers.
Indian defence sector scales newer heights with latest technology

The Indian Army is planning to procure approximate quantity 800 Light Armoured Multipurpose Vehicle (LAMV) for Mechanised Infantry and Armoured Corps. The LAMV is planned to be procured in sync with 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative. The Request for Information generated by the Defence Ministry stated the LAMV will be employed by Reconnaissance (Recce) & Surveillance Platoons of Mechanised Infantry and Recce Troops of Armoured Corps for Recce & Surveillance tasks.
Self-reliance in defence forces important for India of 21st century: Modi

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said that the goal of self-reliance in the defence forces is very important for India of the 21st century, and organising the first 'Swavlamban' (self-reliance) seminar for a self-reliant Navy is an important step in this direction. The Prime Minister said that the resolution of creating 75 indigenous technologies in this period of making new resolutions for India is inspiring in itself, and expressed confidence that it will be fulfilled very soon.
Defence Ministry to come up with another indigenisation list

The major items in the first list include 155mm/39 Cal ultra-light howitzers, the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk-IA-enhanced indigenised content, conventional submarines, and communication satellites GSAT-7C. The major items in the second list include next generation corvettes, land-based MRSAM weapon system, smart anti-field weapon system (SAAW) Mk-I.
Rajnath calls for indigenisation in defence manufacturing

Centre okays procurement of 15 LCH limited series production for Rs 3,887 cr

The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) met under Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and approved the procurement. Light Combat Helicopter Limited Series Production (LSP) is an indigenously designed, developed and manufactured state-of-the-art modern combat helicopter containing approximately 45 per cent indigenous content by value which will progressively increase to more than 55 per cent for SP Version.
Surface-to-air missile system for Army successfully hits aerial targets: DRDO

The flight tests were carried out at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha. The launches were carried out establishing the accuracy and reliability of the weapon system against targets, covering sea-skimming and high-altitude functionality within the envelope. Performance of all weapon system components including missiles, weapon system radars, and command posts have been validated during these trials.
