Dissecting the reasons behind where India lost the ODI series
But the same script followed as India were blanked 3-0 by South Africa in the ODIs. Playing ODIs for the first time after July 2021 (for first-choice players, after March 2021), India were rusty and looked out of sorts in the 50-over matches. We dissect the reasons behind India's 3-0 loss in the ODIs against South Africa:
Deepak gave us a real chance, batters' shot selection has been really poor: Kl Rahul
"Deepak gave us a real chance. Quite an exciting game, disappointing that we ended up on the losing side. It's quite obvious where we've gone wrong and it's for everyone to see, our shot selection has been really poor as batsmen. Even as bowlers we weren't hitting the good areas consistently. We didn't pressure the opposition for long periods so we ended up losing the series," a dejected-looking KL Rahul said after the match.
If Rohit is fit, why can't he be the captain in Tests too: Ravi Shastri
Former head coach Ravi Shastri has said that Rohit Sharma should be made a full-time Test captain of India, provided the senior batter can maintain his fitness.
