Talking to mediapersons outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Sharif expressed confidence that the apex court will soon announce its verdict in the suo motu case regarding the political situation in the country, in view of the adverse impact of the current uncertainty on the economy. While bashing Prime Minister Imran Khan, Sharif said that there is no difference between the Pak premier and Adolf Hitler, Dunya News reported.

President of the opposition alliance Maulana Fazlur Rehman said if the Supreme Court gave any verdict against them then they had the right to go to the people's court. The Maulana said that besides him and Sharif, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had also urged the representatives of the military establishment who had attended the meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) on March 31 to come out with their stance.

Imran proposes ex-CJP Gulzar Ahmed as caretaker PM

The proposal of Gulzar -- who laid down his robes on February 1, 2022 -- came after President Arif Alvi sent letters to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif to seek suggestions for the appointment of a caretaker Prime Minister. In case the two politicians can't reach a consensus over one name within three days, each one of them will send two names to the parliamentarian committee responsible for appointing a caretaker Prime Minister.
