Hyundai Motor considering buying GM India's Talegaon plant assets

According to Hyundai Motor India, a Term Sheet has been signed for the potential acquisition of identified assets of the plant like land and building, certain machinery and equipment situated at the General Motors India's plant in Talegaon. The Hyundai Motor India said the proposed acquisition is subject to the signing of the 'Definitive Asset Purchase Agreement'.
Hyundai Q4 net more than doubles on improved chip supplies, SUV demand

Net profit for the three months ended Dec. 31 jumped to 1.709 trillion won (US$1.38 billion) from 701.37 billion won during the same period of last year, the South Korean carmaker said in a statement. "An improved product mix, low incentives, the won's weakness (against the dollar) buoyed the quarterly bottomline despite high inflation and global economic slowdown," Seo Gang-hyun, executive vice president in charge of Hyundai's finance and accounting division, said in the company's earnings conference call.

Hyundai, its affiliate Kia Corp. and Hyundai's independent Genesis brand sold a combined 120,642 vehicles in the world's most important automobile market in September, up from 115,573 units a year ago, according to the companies' sales data. Genesis vehicle sales rose 0.8 percent to 4,907 from 4,867 during the same period, reports Yonhap news agency.
Hyundai, Kia global sales rise in August despite chip shortage

Its subsidiary Kia's sales also went up 10 per cent last month from a year earlier despite an extended chip shortage. Hyundai sold a total of 334,794 vehicles in August, up from 300,004 units a year earlier on robust overseas demand for its models, the company said in a statement. Domestic sales fell 3.5 per cent to 49,224 units from 51,034 during the period, while overseas sales climbed 15 per cent to 285,570 from 248,970, reports Yonhap news agency.
Hyundai ranks 3rd in global vehicle sales in 2022 1st half

Hyundai Motor, its independent Genesis brand and Hyundai's smaller affiliate Kia Corp. sold a total of 3.299 million vehicles in global markets in the January-June period, following Toyota Motor Group's 5.138 million units and Volkswagen Group's 4.006 million units, according to their sales data. In the first six months, increased sales of Genesis models, the all-electric Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the pure electric Kia EV6 pushed up the Korean carmaker's sales ranking, reports Yonhap news agency.
Hyundai to recall over 70K vehicles over faulty parts

Hyundai is recalling 70,582 units of six models that include the Xcient QZ heavy duty truck and the County bus, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said in a statement. Along with Hyundai's recall, Mercedes-Benz Korea is also set to recall 438 units of five models, including the EQE 350+ and EQS 450+ pure electric sedans, reports Yonhap News Agency.
Hyundai Motor sells 1 mn 'green' cars, shows data

The automaking giant said its two carmaking affiliates -- Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp. -- sold a combined 29,484 environmentally-friendly vehicles in July alone, raising their cumulative sales to 1.024 million. The milestone came after Hyundai Motor Group entered the eco-friendly vehicle market in July 2009 by launching the hybrid model of its Avante subcompact, reports Yonhap news agency.
