The ED, which took Pune-based businessman Avinash Bhosale into custody this morning in connection with DHFL-Yes Bank case, wants to grill Raut in this matter too, as per sources. They claimed that Patra Chawl case of ED is also linked to DHFL case. On Monday, the central probe agency had asked Raut to appear in its Mumbai office the following day to get his statement recorded.

Sonia Gandhi has been asked to join the probe in mid July by the ED. Her questioning, which was scheduled on June 23, was postponed on health grounds. "We have to ask about her role in the deal between Young India and Associated Journal Ltd (AJL)," the sources said. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had said that late Motilal Vora was looking after these affairs.

Earlier, he was given a dinner break at around 8:06 p.m. after a nine-hour questioning. Gandhi soon returned to ED office after having dinner. As of now he has not been summoned for Wednesday. On Tuesday, he was questioned for around nine hours and wasn't given lunch break. It was his fifth day of questioning.

Till now, he has been questioned for about 40 hours by the anti-money laundering agency, including on Monday. Gandhi was reportedly questioned about a few transactions made by Kolkata-based Dotex Merchandise Pvt Ltd. Earlier, the Congress leader had denied having knowledge of any sort of loan taken by Young Indian, according to ED sources.

He will be questioned by a three-member ED team and will also be given lunch break. Rahul Gandhi's questioning was to be done on Friday, but he wrote to the ED to postpone it citing the illness of his mother Sonia Gandhi. The ED had accepted his request and had postponed the questioning for Monday.

Addressing a press conference here, Congress General Secretary Ajay Maken said, "The agencies were pressurising those who spoke against the government, but for the leaders who joined the BJP like Himanta Biswa Sarma and others there was no ED or CBI behind them. It is the 'glow and lovely' scheme for them."

Satyendar Jain was arrested on May 30 by the ED under section 19 of the PMLA. According to the sources, the ED officials were conducting raids at the office of a renowned public school chain. The school is being run by a trust. Its promoter and directors are being grilled as they have connections in the Jain case. The ED officials have not given any official reaction on this so far now.

Utter scenes of chaos prevailed throughout the day outside the Congress headquarters and the ED office. The party workers were being detained every then and now. Video and images of Congress workers, including women being forcibly carried from the roads, as they were lying down, went viral on social media.

The Congress workers had assembled outside the ED office in a show of solidarity with their leader. The detained protesters were taken to the Kapashera board by bus. The Delhi Police had already beefed up security in and around the probe agency's headquarters before a three-member team started Rahul Gandhi's questioning.

However, he tweeted that he was lucky to get away with only a suspected hairline crack. He was among hundred others who protested on Monday as party leader Rahul Gandhi was summoned for questioning by the probe agency. "When three big, burly policemen crash into you, you are lucky to get away with a suspected hairline crack! Doctors have said that if there is a hairline crack, it will heal by itself in about 10 days", Chidambaram said in the tweet.
