India's power demand expected to rise by 8-10% in FY22

The brokerage house had earlier predicted a 12 per cent rise in power demand in FY22. The downward revision of demand expectation is largely due to a prolonged winter and disruptions in demand caused by the rising corona cases in January 2022.
Surcharge on power bills of 30K consumers to be waived in Gurugram

These connections were disconnected by the department for non-payment of bills till June 30. To get the surcharge waived, consumers will have to apply by November 30, they added. In Gurugram, more than 30,000 consumers in both the circles of DHBVN have outstanding bills of Rs 190 crore. This includes a surcharge of about Rs 35 crore.

Power Finance Corporation profit up 34% in Q1 FY22

The company's net profit in the Q1 period of FY22 stood at Rs 2,275 crore as compared to profit of 1,700 crore in the same period of previous year. During the quarter, the financier's Net Interest Income rose 15 per cent to Rs 3,525 crore as against Rs 3,073 crore in Q1'21. PFC declared Interim Dividend of Rs 2.25 per share.
'India's power demand could grow over 5% this fiscal'

Industry demand is expected to prop up India's energy consumption by over 75 billion units (BUs) this fiscal, or 5 per cent on-year - the fastest growth in the past three fiscals, it said. GE wins orders of transformers, reactors from India's largest transmission utility

The contracts have been awarded by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), India's largest state-owned transmission company. As part of the order, GE will provide 13 units of 765 kV transformers and 32 numbers of 765 kV reactors.GE's transformers and reactors will be installed in the new substations that will be set up in the Indian state of Rajasthan by PGCIL.
NTPC invites bids for Development of Waste to Energy Facility in Varanasi

The bid commenced on 22nd June 2021 and will conclude on 27th July 2021. The Varanasi Waste to Energy (WTE) facility is expected to be commissioned by 30th September, 2022. A Waste to Energy plant with waste segregation facility of 600 TPD fresh Municipal Solid Waste will be installed under the project. The plant will be designed in a modular fashion.
Green power to help RInfra-led BSES, Delhi consumers save Rs 800 cr/yr

There are a total of seven power stations that are supplying expensive power (above Rs 6 per unit) to Reliance Infrastructure-led BSES. Of these, five stations, including Dadri-I, have completed 25 years from COD. Additionally, two more power stations will complete 25 years by August 2021 and April 2022. These power plants supply around 830 MW power to BSES.

P&G commissions first in-house solar plant in India

This is P&G's only fifth manufacturing site globally to commission an in-house solar plant. Spread over 16,000 square meters and comprising nearly 3,000 panels, the in-house solar plant has a capacity of one Megawatt of clean energy production and will reduce the company's carbon footprint by an estimated 1,030 tonnes annually.
