Hybrid cars more vulnerable to chip shortage than conventional ones

The results, published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology, showed that self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles have twice the raw material cost risks, which equates to an increase of $1 billion for a fleet of a million sedans and SUVs, compared to conventional models.The largest contributors to the increase in cost risks were battery-related elements.

The expo, to be organised from August 6 to 8, will be inaugurated by Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. "Around 100 plus Indian and international exhibitors are showcasing their technologically advanced, pollution-free 2,3 and 4 wheeled e-vehicles like E-rickshaws, E-carts, E-bikes, E-scooters, E-bicycles, E-loaders as well as 4-wheeled vehicles at EV-EXPO 2021."
Base effect pushes March passenger vehicle sales higher: SIAM

Sales of passenger vehicles increased to 290,939 last month compared to over 135,196 units during the same period of 2020. In February 2021, 281,380 units of passenger vehicles were sold, including the sub-segments of cars, utility vehicles and vans. A total of 156,985 passenger cars were sold in the domestic market up from 80,727 units in the like period of 2020.
Ola showcases 1st electric scooter, aims 1 cr bikes by 2022

Built over 500 acres in Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu, the Ola FutureFactory facility will roll out one scooter every two seconds at full capacity, according to Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Group CEO. It will be an integrated manufacturing facility, addressing all needs from the battery to finished goods.
