Rajnath Singh urges DRDO to immediately think about developing hypersonic missiles

With ballistic missile defence systems getting more robust in the current time, the defence minister said it is necessary for India to develop the hypersonic missile and also said that India should be ensured that India is a leader when it comes to defence technologies. Singh also officially handed over an indigenous anti-drone system, smart anti-airfield weapon (SAAW), modular bridge and advanced chaff variants to the armed forces at the event.
DRDO's anti-Covid drug 2-DG launched

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister Harsh Vardhan released the first batch of the 2-DG, an anti-Covid-19 therapeutic application of the drug developed by the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), a lab of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in collaboration with Dr Reddy's Laboratories (DRL).

An anti-Covid-19 therapeutic application of the drug 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) has been developed by INMAS, a lab of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), in collaboration with Dr Reddy's Laboratories (DRL), Hyderabad. Clinical trial results have shown that this molecule helps in faster recovery of hospitalised patients and reduces supplemental oxygen dependence.
