3rd Covid wave in Delhi brought under control : CM
Noting that the patients were lying on the streets and corridors of hospitals when New York had reached its Covid-19 peak, Kejriwal said: "It was not the case in Delhi as 7,000 beds were lying vacant when the highest single-day spikes were reported." With reports of 1,133 present Covid cases in Delhi, the CM said that the positivity rate has now dropped to 1.3 per cent compared to November when the figure was 15 per cent.
Cold Wave in Delhi: Icy winds, cloudy Saturday, fog ahead
The IMD has four colour-coded warnings as per the intensity of any weather system -- green, yellow, orange and red. Orange alert is given to authorities to be prepared. The Safdarjung Observatory, which provides representative data, recorded a minimum temperature of 4.4 degrees Celsius, while Ayanagar and Lodhi Road weather stations registered 3.5 and 3.8 degrees Celsius. The city is likely to record another "severe" cold day on Friday.

As per the recent National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, the conviction rate for rape cases remained at 27.8 per cent in 2019. Out of a total of 1,62,741 rape cases which went to trial in 2019, the court convicted people in only 4,640 cases.

The Delhi police registered a total of 1,791 cases of assault on women with the intent to outrage their modesty till October this year. In comparison, 2520 cases were registered during the same period in 2019, which went up to 2,921 by the year end. In 2012, a total of 727 cases were registered for the same offence.

Meanwhile, 2,343 patients recovered from the disease while 41 succumbed to it in the same duration. The case positivity rate is constantly on the decline since the beginning of the month. On Monday, it stood at 2.1 per cent, authorities said.
Delhi Government sanctions Rs 80 Crore margin money payment to ration shops
The move comes after the ration shop owners last month declared they are stopping distribution of food grains to Delhi residents from this month over non-payment of margin money from the Delhi government. The margin money is borrowed from a brokerage firm to purchase an investment.
