Punjab Kings had a rocky start as they lost three important wickets in the Power-play, with Shikhar Dhawan (7), Liam Livingstone (4) and Jitesh Sharma (5) all falling early. However, Prabhsimran and Sam Curran steadied the ship with a crucial fourth-wicket partnership of 72 runs off 54 balls.

Both teams are coming off crushing defeats in their last matches respectively. Delhi lost to Chennai on a spin-friendly Chepauk track while Punjab Kings suffered a last-ball defeat against KKR at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. "I think we had a decent start, and then we lost a couple of wickets which dragged it back for them. But then Shivam Dube's three sixes were the real turning point, and then MS at the end with those sixes just gave us that bit of momentum and gave us the score that we were looking for which was 160-170," he said to CSK batting coach Mike Hussey in a video posted on IPL's Twitter account.

"We will bat first. We have played a few games on this wicket. There are chances of this wicket slowing down. We can't complain about this track. We try to keep it simple. We try to keep reiterating the same thing. Try to accomplish the plan. Try to execute the plans," CSK skipper MS Dhoni said at the toss.

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh reckons two consecutive victories must have taken the confidence of this team to the next level but the lack of runs from Warner's bat is a concern for DC - who are sitting at the bottom of the table.

Lomror joined the franchise in 2022 and on Saturday finally got the opportunity to come good with the bat albeit in a losing cause. His knock was laced with three maximums and nine boundaries. Half-centuries by Virat and Lomror propelled Royal Challengers Bangalore to 181/4 in 20 overs. Apart from Kohli and Lomror, skipper Faf du Plessis also played a vital knock to contribute to RCB's decent total.
