India take lead in first 2 Tests in Australia for 1st time since 1985-86

Australia were dismissed for 195 in their first innings on Saturday. India had taken a 53-run lead in the first Test at Adelaide last week although they eventually lost the game by eight wickets after being bowled out for 36 in the second innings. Back in 1985-86, India had got lead in the first Test at Adelaide, making 520 to Australia's 381, and in the second Test in Melbourne, scoring 445 against Australia's 262.

The right-arm pace bowler has finally been rewarded for his performances in domestic first-class cricket and for India A, and replaces Mohammed Shami whose bowling arm was fractured by a delivery from Pat Cummins last Saturday, during the first Test in Adelaide. The 26-year-old Hyerabadi has played in ODIs (1) and T20Is (3). He had made his first-class debut in 2015 and has taken 152 wickets in 38 matches so far.

Former England batsman John Edrich passes away at 83

Edrich, a left-handed batsman, scored more than 5,000 runs for England during a 77-match Test career spanning 13 years between 1963 and 1976. He captained England in one Test. He also partook in the first ever men's One Day International. He scored the first boundary and the first-ever fifty in men's ODI cricket.
