The study led by Lithuanian University of Health Sciences compared treatment delays, post-treatment ejection fraction, and decompensated heart failure hospitalisation rate in heart attack patients before versus during the Covid-19 pandemic. Urgent treatment for heart attacks is essential to restore the flow of oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle.
Prior Covid infection won't affect IVF success: Study

Covid-19 vaccines likely induce strong, persistent immunity: Study

The researchers extracted cells from 14 people who received the Pfizer vaccine. Samples were obtained three weeks after the first dose, and at weeks four, five and seven. Ten of the participants gave additional samples 15 weeks after the first dose. None of the participants previously had been infected with the virus that causes Covid-19, the Xinhua news agency reported.

The changes to the 'spike' protein explains faster spread of Alpha, and how the Beta variant evades immune responses, suggesting the need for a booster with an updated vaccine.

Researchers from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Italy's Milan, identified memory, spatial awareness and information processing problems as possible overhangs from the virus in post-Covid-19 patients after eight weeks. The greater the severity of Covid-19 acute respiratory symptoms during hospital admission, the lower was the executive function performance, they found.
