Global cues, profit booking subdue indices

Accordingly, market breadth turned weak after a healthy buying spree due to profit booking. Initially, the key indices had a gap-up opening. The two key domestic indices gradually rose to touch record high levels. Consequently, the NSE Nifty50 touched a record high of 16,701.8 points, while S&P BSE Sensex reached 56,118.57 points during the session. Nevertheless, profit booking and negative European cues dented sentiments.
New UP companies to get priority listing at BSE, NSE

According to additional chief secretary (ACS) MSME, Navneet Sehgal this was decided in a meeting with NSE senior manager Rakesh Kumar on Thursday. Sehgal said that virtual meetings would be organised between the two exchanges and industry bodies like FICCI and Laghu Udyog Bharti so that they could encourage their members to get listed on the stock exchange.
Sensex crosses 55,000 for the first time on improved macroeconomic data

Sensex has hit an all-time high of 55,199.42 and the Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange touched a record high of 16,468.45. On Thursday, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) for June showed a rise of 13.6 per cent from a decline of (-) 16.6 per cent reported for the like month a year ago.
Positive domestic cues buoy equity indices; banking stocks rise

Initially, markets had a gap up opening and gradually moved up through the morning to touch record high levels. Globally, Asian shares were mixed on Thursday as worries about Chinese regulatory changes and the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus weighed on sentiment.Sector wise, indices such as Media, IT, PSE and PSU Bank moved higher, whereas pharma stocks fell.

Healthy buying was witnessed in IT stocks. Around 10.10 a.m., Sensex was trading at 54,690.70, higher by 164.77 points or 0.30 per cent from the previous close of 54,525.93 points. It opened at 54,641.22 and has touched an intra-day high of 54,724.20 and a low of 54,536.65 points. The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange was trading at 16,332.00, higher by 49.75 points or 0.31 per cent from its previous close.
BSE clarifies on new price-movement surveillance measures

The exchange in a circular has said that it has partially modified and superseded the notification it released on Monday. It said that the framework is applicable to BSE Exclusive securities in groups 'X, XT, Z, ZP, ZY, Y' and on companies which have market capitalisation of less than Rs 1,000 crore. The clarification also said that the securities should have a price of Rs 10 and more, as on the date of review, among others.
Equity indices shed initial gains; healthcare, auto stocks plunge

Heavy selling was witnessed in healthcare and auto stocks. Around 10.10 a.m., Sensex was trading at 54,326.44, lower by 228.22 points or 0.42 per cent from its previous close of 54,554.66. It opened at 54,730.65 and has touched an intra-day high of 54,758.74 and a low of 54,303.97 points. The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange was trading at 16,211.85, lower by 68.25 points or 0.42 per cent from its previous close.
Global cues subdue equities, markets in red

The S&P BSE Sensex traded at 52,337.13 points around 9.55 a.m. lower by 231.81 points, or 0.44 per cent, from its previous close. Similarly, the Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange closed at 15,669.85, lower by 58.05 points, or 0.37 per cent, from its previous close.
Equity market flat amid volatility, weak global cues

A weak trend in the global markets also weighed on the domestic investor sentiments, analysts said. Heavy selling pressure was witnessed in oil and gas and power stocks, while realty stocks witnessed high buying activity. Around 10.25 a.m., Sensex was trading at 52,911.55, higher by 50.37 points or 0.10 per cent from its previous close of 52,861.18.
BSESENSEX lifetime high achieved, market trend unclear

BSESENSEX finally managed to hit a lifetime high and did so on Friday touching 52,641.53 points. This crossed the previous high made on February 16 of 52,516.76 points. Incidentally NIFTY had made a lifetime high on May 28 and it took a fortnight for the BSESENSEX to achieve the same, something which has not happened in a very long time.
