Selling coal cheaply to Pakistan paints Taliban as Pakistani puppets

Ever since the Taliban toppled the Western-backed government in Kabul and seized power in August 2021, the export of and customs duties from coal have become a key source of revenue for the militant group, RFE/RL reported. Afghanistan has significant deposits of coal. Out of the country's 80 coal mines, 17 are operational, with most located in central and northern Afghanistan.

The Toyota vehicle was buried by Mullah Omar when he arrived at Zabul province in southern Afghanistan from Kandahar. The car was found wrapped in plastic and mostly undamaged. The front mirror was, however, broken, a local said.

Taliban converting schools into madrasas

Death toll rises to 920 after major quake hits Afghanistan

Deputy State Minister for Natural Disaster Management in Taliban-led government, Mawlavi Sharfuddin, said in a press conference that 920 people were killed and 610 others injured in the quake, the state-run Bakhtar News Agency said in a tweet. The casualties were reported from Barmal, Ziruk, Naka and Gayan districts of Paktika province.
Taliban recognition not on Russia's current agenda: Kremlin
