The file to was sent to the office of Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, which was approved on Saturday. 

CM Kejriwal further said that he looked forward to their continued support on other matters as well. "We look forward to your continued support in the fight against forces that are undermining the Constitution." Kejriwal had earlier met the Congress leaders in Bihar and during the opposition party meeting in June and sought their support against the Bill.

The case was filed by Gujarat University, following the AAP leaders alleged “sarcastic” and “derogatory” statements about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree.

"I am deeply grateful to the leaders and parties for their support and unity against these unconstitutional and unjust laws introduced by the BJP, both within and outside the Parliament, on behalf of the 20 million people of Delhi.

Claiming that the Bill tantamounts to enslaving the people of Delhi, Kejriwal said it was like the Government of India Act of 1935, which was then imposed by the Britishers on Indians. "After 75 years of Independence, the Prime Minister has curtailed the freedom of the people of Delhi -- almost as if their votes don’t matter -- because their elected government has been rendered almost powerless," Kejriwal said. 

Chahal later accused Kejriwal of neglecting the Flood Control Committee's apex committee meetings and leaving the meeting without addressing questions about women's safety and flood control. In response, the AAP accused the BJP-affiliated members turned the NDMC meeting into a political battleground.

"Yesterday, Delhi received 126 mm of rainfall. Only 15 per cent of the total monsoon rainfall occurred within a span of 12 hours. People faced significant problems due to waterlogging. Today, all the ministers and the mayor of Delhi will inspect the problem areas.

The order stipulates that prior approval from the Lieutenant Governor is mandatory for all such appointments. "This will completely strangle the Delhi government and its services. I don't know what the Hon'ble LG aims to achieve by doing all this. I hope the Hon'ble Supreme Court immediately quashes it," Arvind Kejriwal tweeted on Thursday.

“I say yes, I am distributing freebies. What problems do you have? I give seven types of freebies: (1) free electricity, (2) world-class schools, (3) free medicines, (4) free water, (5) free bus rides for women, (6) free pilgrimage for senior citizens, and (7) we are making efforts to provide employment to youths.

Sources told IANS that Kejriwal raised the issue of the Congress not making its stand clear on the Centre's ordinance over control of services and alleged that it had a secret pact with the BJP over the issue and would stage a walkout during the voting in the Rajya Sabha when the law replacing the ordinance comes up.
