Avant garde works from critical periods of the 20th Century
The live auction will feature ground-breaking Impressionists such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Alfred Sisley, alongside Modern masters who defined the critical movements of the early 20th Century, from Gustav Klimt to Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Joan Miro. A focal point is the monumentally-sized masterpiece by Ukrainian artist Sonia Delaunay, Marche au Minho.
Indian Artists shine bright at the Inaugural Exhibition of 'Art For Hope 2023'
The exhibition was inclusive and made accessible for persons with disabilities, including an audio-visual tour in sign language. Govandi Arts Festival kickstarts in Mumbai
The Govandi Art Festival uses inclusive strategies to highlight the skills of underrepresented communities. It is the culmination of a six-month mentorship programme in which 45 young people from Govandi learned from well-known Mumbai-based artists. The mentorship included a variety of artistic mediums, including rap, public art, photography, film and theatre.
Mythological Oil Paintings
Native artists learned how to use oil colours and to paint on canvases instead of little paper miniatures through exposure to their artistic expertise and practise. Wealthy European or indigenous merchants and zamindars were the primary patrons of European artists. They were adopting new subjects even though they were primarily painting portraits.
