India's agricultural, processed food products exports up by 31%
As per the provisional data released by the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S), the overall export of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) products increased to $7,408 million in April-June 2022 from $5,663 million over the same period of the last fiscal. The export target for April-June 2022-23 was fixed at $5,890 million.
Govt approves sugarcane FRP of Rs 305 per quintal for FY23 season
Aiming to protect interest of sugarcane farmers, the CCEA has also decided that there would not be any deduction in case of sugar mills where recovery is below 9.5 per cent. Such farmers are likely to get Rs 282.125 per quintal for sugarcane in 2022-23 as against Rs 275.50 per quintal in current sugar season 2021-22.
Rice, pulses, oilseeds witness less sowing; only sugarcane up
Rice is sown over 8.73 lakh Ha, compared to 12.52 lakh Ha in 2021, which is 3.80 lakh Ha less (minus 30.32 per cent). Pulses have been sown over 4.39 lakh Ha, compared to 4.74 lakh Ha in 2021, which is 0.35 lakh Ha less (minus 7.43 per cent), among them, Urad has witnessed the least sowing with 0.53 lakh Ha this year compared to 0.73 lakh Ha last year (minus 27.95 per cent).

India export ban shakes global wheat prices
Futures traded in Chicago rose as much as 5.9 per cent to $12.47 a bushel, their highest level in two months, Financial Times reported. Wheat prices have risen more than 60 per cent this year, driven up by disruption from Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The two European countries account for almost a third of the world's wheat exports.
Record High: India's agriculture exports touch $50 bn
As per the provisional figures released by the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S), agri exports grew by 19.92 per cent in 2021-22 to touch $50.21 billion. "The growth rate is remarkable as it is over and above the growth of 17.66 per cent at $41.87 billion achieved in 2020-21, and it has been achieved in spite of unprecedented logistical challenges in the form of high freight rates, container shortages etc.," the Ministry said.

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal informed this while replying to the supplementary question related to wheat export during the Question Hour. Goyal was responding to a question raised by Congress MP Anand Sharma.

"India is in final talks to start wheat export to Egypt, while discussions are going on with countries such as Turkey, China, Bosnia, Sudan, Nigeria, Iran, etc to start wheat export," a meeting of the stakeholders called by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) was informed. The export of wheat recorded a huge surge at $1,742 million during April-January 2021-22.
