Govt declares soya meal essential commodity, puts stock limit till June 2022

Under the Soya Meal Stock Control Order, 2021, issued with immediate effect from December 23, the stock limit has been set in consultation with the Central Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, wherein plant/miller/processors are allowed a maximum stock of 90 days production. They would also have to declare storage locations. "For trading companies/traders/private chaupals, only government registered enterprises, a maximum stock of 160 MT with a defined and declared storage location is allowed," said a release from the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
Cabinet approves higher MSP for copra for 2022 season

The MSP for fair average quality (FAQ) of milling copra has been increased to Rs 10,590 per quintal for 2022 season from Rs 10,335 per quintal in 2021 and the MSP for ball copra has been increased to Rs 11,000 per quintal for 2022 season from Rs 10,600 per quintal in 2021. This is to ensure a return of 51.85 per cent for milling copra and 57.73 per cent for ball copra over the pan India weighted average cost of production.
Inflationary inflected: Centre suspends futures trade in 7 agricultural commodities

As per a Ministry of Finance notification, these agricultural commodities include wheat, paddy (non-basmati) chana, mustard seeds and its derivatives, soya bean and its derivatives, crude palm oil and moong. Industry insiders opined that the move is in consonance with the Centre's goal to drive down inflation while maintaining a growth oriented liquidity stand.
India aiming at $43 billion agri-products' exports: Govt

The increase in agricultural and processed food products exports from Purvanchal (eastern UP) will not only boost India's foreign exchange earnings, it will help in doubling farmers' income as well as boost employment opportunities in the region, the Minister said at the event organised by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), the government release said.
India's Apr-Nov agricultural, processed food exports up 13%

As per the data furnished by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, export of products under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) ambit increased from $11.671 billion in April-November 2020-21 to $13.261 billion in April-November 2021-22. The target for exports under the APEDA basket products has been set at $23.713 billion for 2021-22
India records 15% rise in export of agricultural, processed food products

According to the Quick Estimates released by the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S), the overall export of Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) products witnessed 14.7 per cent growth in terms of USD during April-October 2021 over the same period of the previous year.

The area sown for rice is 6.33 lakh ha in 2021 as compared to 42.51 lakh in 2020, for for wheat it is 88.46 lakh ha compared to 80.71 lakh ha, while that under pulses is 76.12 lakh ha, almost comparable to 76.19 lakh ha in 2020. Area sown for for oil seeds in 2021 is 69.26 lakh ha compared to 53.28 lakh ha in 2020, and the area sown for coarse-cum-nutri crops is 20.48 lakh ha, slightly less compared to 22.08 lakh ha in 2020

Nearly 30K farmers benefitted from paddy procurement under KMS

A quantity of 2,87,552 MT of Paddy has been procured in KMS 2021-22 up to October 5, benefiting 29,907 farmers with Minimum Support Price (MSP) value of Rs 563.60 crore. Out of the total, 1,46,509 MT paddy has been procured in Haryana and 1,41,043 Metric Tonnes (MT) paddy has been procured in Punjab, according to a statement by Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution.
