Elon Musk, the chief executive officer at Tesla and SpaceX, said on Monday that his social media platform, X, had grown into a global hub—what he himself termed, only more precisely, a "group chat for Earth." Frenetic 600 million monthly active users globally, X is fast becoming the go-to platform, attaining large strides from such most varied quarters as exist across continents.
Commentators have referred to X as a "global town square", simply underlining the fact that it occupies the position of one of the most eminently important platforms in the world for discourses. Musk himself spoke about the development feature called "Earth Chat", pointing out further developments geared at increasing user interaction.
Since Musk, worth an estimated $200 billion after selling Tesla shares to fund the purchase, bought X, formerly Twitter, in 2022 for $44 billion, he has doggedly clung to the vision of making it a sprawling "everything app." It has increased so far beyond the early days wherein it was a microblogging service allowing users to post movies and TV shows; it does digital payments.
Notably, Musk even celebrated the fact that X had continued to see surging popularity in the U.S., where it hit a record 76 billion for total user-seconds, up 5 percent from previous highs. Other data from March comes out to an average of 30 minutes per day users spend on the site, pointing toward growing engagement.
By the time Musk joined, Twitter was still only a 140-character messaging site with only some 3,500 developers—so, all things considered, quite early in its growth as directed by Musk.
