Roh, who is on an official visit to India, expressed gratitude for the support received from both state and central governments. Samsung recently launched its premium smartphone, the Galaxy S24 series, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence capabilities. More than 2.5 lakh customers in India have pre-booked the Galaxy S24 since the pre-booking phase began on January 18.

The Galaxy S24 smartphones, manufactured in India, are being shipped to customers who pre-booked the device. Additionally, Samsung plans to export the Galaxy S24 from its Indian production facilities. Responding to questions about Samsung's share reduction in the export of mobile phones from India, Roh noted that the global smartphone market has experienced a decline of approximately 5%, leading to production optimization across Samsung plants based on global demand.

Roh emphasized the importance of the Noida plant, which has evolved from manufacturing feature phones, smartphones, wearables, and tablets to now including laptops in its production portfolio. Addressing concerns about AI server shortages impacting the Galaxy S24 AI features in India, Roh explained that the smartphone supports both cloud-based AI and on-device AI. He reassured users that cloud-based AI capabilities have been optimized for the mobile environment, ensuring a consistent experience globally.

Furthermore, Roh mentioned Samsung's commitment to extending AI capabilities to 100 million Galaxy devices this year, aligning with the company's vision of mobile devices being at the core of AI capabilities. As the Indian government works on a proposal to develop the AI ecosystem in the country with an outlay exceeding Rs 10,000 crore, Samsung aims to contribute to the growth of AI technology in the region.
