Samsung to lead premium TV sales globally in 2021: Report

The sales of QLED TVs, anchored by the world's largest TV maker Samsung, is likely to surpass 12 million units this year, up 26 per cent from a year ago. Samsung last year sold 7.79 million QLED TVs, accounting for more than 81 per cent of global QLED TV sales. Global TV shipments are projected to reach 223.09 million units in 2021, according to market researcher Omdia, which is down 1 per cent from last year's 225.35 million units.
YouTube testing automatic product detection in videos

YouTube said that it is experimenting with a new feature that displays a list of products detected in some videos, as well as related products. "The feature will appear in between the recommended videos, to viewers scrolling below the video player," the company said in an update. "The goal is to help people explore more videos and information about those products on YouTube," it added.
Samsung rolls out camera improvement update for Galaxy S20

"The latest update for the three phones, which carries firmware version G98xxXXU7DUC7, is around 500MB in size," reports SamMobile. With the latest update, Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series now have access to camera features such as portrait mode in low-light conditions through a new software update.

The bid for a 15-year-old tweet on March 6, 2006 (saying just setting up my twttr') put up for auction as an NFT (non-fungible token) on a platform called Valuables has reportedly been won by Sina Estavi, CEO of tech company Bridge Oracle. Dorsey had said in an earlier tweet: "Ending this March 21st. Will immediately convert proceeds to #Bitcoin. And send to @GiveDirectly Africa Response".
Galaxy Buds Pro effective for people with hearing problems

The study, which was published last week in Clinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology (CEO), a renowned scientific journal dedicated to ear, nose and throat research, suggested that the Galaxy Buds Pro's Ambient Sound feature could assist those with mild to moderate hearing loss to better engage in conversation with others, according to Samsung.
OLED display chip shortage may impact iPhone production

According to Nikkei Asia, Samsung was forced to shut down its chip fabrication plant in Texas due to large winter storms. The plant is responsible for 5 per cent of the global supply of chips for smartphones and personal computers, and its closure has caused a widespread global shortage. As Samsung manufactured the OLED display used in iPhone 12 and Apple Watch models at the Texas facility, the plant's closure could impact Apple.
Xiaomi projected to be 3rd largest phone maker globally in 2021

Telegram launches Voice Chats 2.0

This feature had earlier existed only for Telegram Groups that was launched in December 2020. "This update also brings recordable voice chats, rich lists of participants, raise hand mechanics, invite links for speakers and listeners, voice chat titles. In addition to this public figures will now be able to join voice chats as their channels, and not necessarily with their personal accounts maintaining their privacy," the company said in a statement.

Facebook and its family of apps recover from major outage

During the outage late on Friday, more than 1 lakh users reported issues with Instagram on the online outage tracker DownDetector, and over 25,000 users reported issues with WhatsApp. "Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have trouble accessing some Facebook services. We resolved this issue for everyone, and we apologize for any inconvenience," Facebook said in a statement.
