Apple may hike iPhone 13 prices due to increased production costs
According to the DigiTimes, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), is planning to increase the costs of its chip production, impacting several customers, including Apple. TSMC may increase its costs by as much as 20 per cent for its "advanced and mature process technologies". The price increase will impact TSMC customers, including Apple and the iPhone maker.
Google releases YouTube Music Wear OS app for Samsung's new watches
Available on the Play Store, the Wear OS version of YouTube Music offers up access to all of your playlists, mixes, and, of course, playback controls, reports 9to5Google. The YouTube Music Wear OS app allows users to listen songs while the watch is connected to a Bluetooth device, download music directly to a smartwatch, and control playback.
Samsung launches Galaxy Watch4, Watch4 Classic and Buds2 in India
Consumers can pre-book Galaxy Watch4 Classic, Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Buds2 on Samsung.com and across leading online and offline retail stores starting August 30. The sale will commence from September 10. Galaxy Buds2 will be available in Graphite, White, Olive Green and Lavender and priced at Rs 11,999.
Tesla's iOS app gets improved visuals, enhanced widgets
Although the core functionality of the app remains unchanged, the visuals have been overhauled, according to NotaTeslaApp. However, there are a few new features, including the ability to be able to send commands to a Tesla vehicle from an iPhone without needing to wake the car up first. Additionally, users can unlock multiple Tesla vehicles using their phone key.

Foxconn to hire 2 lakh employees for iPhone 13 production: Report
According to the South China Morning Post, 200,000 additional workers are needed at Foxconn's iPhone factory in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou, ahead of the expected launch of the iPhone 13 lineup next month. The general manager of Foxconn's Zhengzhou plant Wang Xue noted that the staffing employees has become the "biggest bottleneck" for the company. He believes that it will be able to hire 200,000 new hires by the end of September "at the current speed of recruitment."
New Samsung foldable phones set to sell in 130 countries by Oct
Sales of Samsung's third-generation foldable devices -- the Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Galaxy Z Flip3 -- have started in some 40 countries, including South Korea, the United States, Britain and France, according to the company. The new Galaxy Z series will be available in 130 countries by October. Samsung has sharply lowered prices for its latest foldable smartphones, cutting as much as 400,000 won (US$340) compared with predecessors.
Xiaomi to acquire self-driving startup Deepmotion for $77.4 mn
The deal happens as the company gears up to enter the electric vehicle market, reports GizmoChina. Deepmotion develops driver assistance software. "Multiple sources have recently stated that Xiaomi is planning to build its own car and is considering it as a strategic decision, but specific details and the path it aims to take are yet to be determined," the report said on Thursday.
