Apple releases iOS 16.2 with better always-on display
Owners of the iPhone 14 Pro will take advantage of improved always-on display settings that allow users to disable the mode's wallpaper and notifications if they are too distracting, reports The Verge. Other new features include end-to-end iCloud encryption, Apple Music Sing karaoke mode and much more. End-to-end iCloud encryption in iOS 16.2 is called 'Advanced Data Protection' and is used to safeguard data like notes, iCloud backups and photos.

Dorsey wrote an essay on Revue, an editorial newsletter tool for writers and publishers on Tuesday, reports The Verge. He said that the Twitter staff should not be targeted for perceived slights, and stated that he wished the information had been "released Wikileaks-style." He also promoted Bitcoin and his own social networking protocol in the essay.

Apple Airtel and Jio customers who participated in iOS 16 Beta software programme were able to try out 5G. Apple worked closely with its "carrier partners in India to bring the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance is completed".

The group was formed in 2016 and had newly 100 independent researchers and human rights activists. In an email to remaining council members, Twitter said that as the company moves into a new phase, "we are reevaluating how best to bring external insights into our product and policy development work".
YouTube's Apple TV app faces issue, users complain
Users claim that while attempting to close the YouTube application, their Apple TV displays a blank screen and becomes unresponsive. While one user tweeted: "Hey @YouTube please get rid of the exit screen on your AppleTV app. It's annoying and doesn't work. It was not needed before and is not needed now."
Microsoft to discontinue Authenticator app for Apple Watch
In a Microsoft support webpage, the company revealed that an update coming to the Authenticator iOS app in January 2023 will remove the companion app from watchOS. As a result, users of the Apple Watch will no longer be able to access the service via the device.

WhatsApp's new feature helps group members to recognise other participants that have the same name. The default empty profile photo appears if a profile photo is unavailable or hidden due to privacy settings and it is highlighted using the same colour as the contact name.
