Google developing free anti-terrorism moderation tool for smaller websites
According to the Financial Times, the software is being developed in collaboration with Google's research and development unit Jigsaw and the UN-supported Tech Against Terrorism, an initiative that assists tech companies in combating online terrorism. "There are a lot of websites that just don't have any people to do the enforcement. It is a really labour-intensive thing to even build the algorithms [and] then you need all those human reviewers," Yasmin Green, chief executive of Jigsaw, was quoted as saying. "(Smaller websites) do not want Isis content there, but there is a tonne of it all over (them)," she added.
CES 2023: ASUS unveils new ROG laptop line-up
The ROG line-up includes -- Strix SCAR family, Zephyrus M16, Flow X13, XG Mobile, and more. The 2023 Strix family features new models with drastically improved cooling and enlarged 16 and 18-inch screens. The new Zephyrus M16 arrives with an AniMe Matrix display to take the thin-and-light world by storm, and a redesigned Flow X13 and XG Mobile have both been upgraded to take advantage of the latest hardware, according to the company. Moreover, ROG brings Nebula Displays to even more models, and in more form factors.
Intel unveils 13th-gen mobile processors at CES 2023

The company's a13th Gen Intel Core H-series' mobile processors include the first 24-core processor for a laptop.
Google rolls out new Pixel update
Starting from Tuesday, the rollout will "continue over the next few weeks in phases depending on carrier and device", the tech giant said in a support page. Users will get a notification once the over-the-air (OTA) becomes available for their devices. "We encourage you to check your Android version and update to receive the latest software," the company said.
CES 2023: Samsung's new QLED TVs, fridges get smarter
At the two events -- The First Look and Bespoke Private Showcase -- Samsung unveiled what kind of TVs and kitchen appliances it has in store for this year. Samsung's new high-end TVs come with more enhanced connectivity and features that enable a personalized viewing experience, the company said, as part of efforts to push the boundaries of traditional TV, reports Yonhap news agency.
Sony won't announce new TVs at CES 2023
The tech giant is likely to showcase the upcoming PlayStation VR2 virtual reality (VR) device at the event. In a statement from Sony Electronics sent by spokesperson Chloe Canta, the tech giant confirmed that "Sony will not be sharing any TV details during CES 2023. However, please stay tuned for an upcoming announcement coming soon."
Twitch fixes issues impacting 'multiple areas'
The platform tweeted: "We have fixed the issues impacting multiple areas of Twitch and services should be back to normal. "If you're experiencing an issue loading part of the site please refresh your browser tab to see if this resolves it. Thank you again for your patience" Taking to downdetector.com, a website that monitors online outages, several users reported issues.
Twitter plans to expand political ads soon
The platform made the announcement from its Twitter Safety account, saying: "Today, we're relaxing our ads policy for cause-based ads in the US. We also plan to expand the political advertising we permit in the coming weeks. "Moving forward, we will align our advertising policy with that of TV and other media outlets. As with all policy changes, we will first ensure that our approach to reviewing and approving content protects people on Twitter." Apple marks 3rd-gen iPad Mini as obsolete product
"Products are considered obsolete when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 7 years ago," according to Apple's support page. "Apple discontinues all hardware service for obsolete products, with the sole exception of Mac laptops that are eligible for an additional battery-only repair period. Service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products," it added.
