OnePlus Open, the flagship foldable device from the global consumer electronics brand OnePlus, has reported strong sales across multiple channels during its open sale day. The company announced that it has become the highest-selling foldable smartphone on the first day of its sale.

Additionally, it has also emerged as the highest-selling foldable smartphone on Amazon.in during its open sale day in the price segment exceeding Rs 1 lakh in 2023. This success highlights the growing popularity and demand for OnePlus Open in the market.

OnePlus Open has obtained certification for its reliable folding capability from the internationally recognized certification institute, TUV Rheinland. To attain this certification, the device underwent rigorous environmental tests and was subjected to 1,000,000 test-folds, equivalent to over 100 folds per day, and ensuring its reliability for over 10 years of use.

This remarkable durability is attributed to the single-spine hinge architecture. The company has noted outstanding performance, which has contributed to its status as the fastest-growing smartphone brand in the first half of 2023, with a year-on-year growth rate exceeding 70%, as reported by a recent IDC report. This certification and success highlight the quality and resilience of OnePlus Open in the market.

“Our smartphones continue to receive very positive response from our customers. We emerged as the market leader in $400-$600 (mid to high-end) price segment in India during H1 2023, commanding a substantial 40.6 per cent share in terms of shipments,” said the company.

According to an IDC report, the flagship devices, OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R, have collectively taken the lead in the mid to high-end price segment ($400-$600) during the first half of 2023. These devices accounted for a significant share, amounting to a quarter of shipments in the Indian market for this particular price range. This success reflects the strong market presence and popularity of OnePlus in the mid to high-end smartphone segment in India.

“Our growth is backed by our sales and validated by industry reports which show progress and dedication to our customers. We also ventured into the tablet category this year, and emerged among the top three brands in the tablet market in mid premium segment for Q2 2023,” said OnePlus. 

OnePlus Pad has achieved a noteworthy share of 34.5% of shipments in the mid-premium ($350-$400) price segment, excluding GST, in the Indian tablet market during the second quarter of 2023. This accomplishment underscores the success and competitiveness of the OnePlus Pad in the mid-premium tablet category in India.
