With the official launch of the Google Pixel 10 series just around the corner, Google has begun ramping up the excitement. The tech giant not only revealed the sleek design of the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, but also hinted at special perks for early buyers.
But the teaser campaign doesn’t stop there—Google appears to be taking a sly jab at Apple over delays in delivering Siri’s much-anticipated AI features.
In a recently published 30-second teaser clip, Google showcases the Pixel 10's eye-catching Moonstone color option. The advertisement includes a voiceover that playfully teases Apple for not staying true to its AI commitments.
Without mentioning Apple specifically, the voiceover wisecracks: If you upgrade to a new phone due to a feature that's arriving soon, but it's been arriving soon for a whole year. You might alter your definition of soon. Or you might simply change your phone.
This cheeky reference is to Apple's WWDC 2024 announcement, in which it added broad AI-powered enhancements for Siri, such as personal context, onscreen awareness, and cross-app interaction. These were initially intended to come with iOS 18.4 for the iPhone 16 series.
Though, just before the iPhone launch, Apple announced that the AI update still isn't available—offering users nebulous timelines and more delay. Although Apple has now demoed iOS 26, due out next month, the new Siri features might not appear until 2026. No official rollout date has been announced.
Catching its breath, Google closes its teaser with a not-so-thinly-veiled message to would-be switchers:
"Ask more of your phone."
Through this campaign, Google is clearly calling out consumers disillusioned by delays to make the switch to the Pixel 10—portraying itself as the superior, more progressive choice in the competition to develop AI.
