Meta-owned Instagram has announced several enhancements to various features like reels, feed photos, carousels, and stories, accompanied by new insights designed to empower creators with a better understanding of their content's performance.
Among the upcoming features, the platform is testing the capability for users to individually scale, crop, and rotate their video clips, offering improved editing flexibility. Additionally, they are introducing undo and redo functionalities to streamline the editing process, alongside easier access to existing tools like Voiceover.
Moreover, Instagram is expanding its text-to-speech options, introducing 10 new English voices in select countries, accompanied by six new text fonts and styles accessible across hundreds of languages. To enhance text visibility, users will have the option to include outlines for better clarity.
In a bid to improve audio selection for reels, Instagram is experimenting with new ways for users to access the audio browser and trending audio, enabling easier discovery and integration of audio into their content creation process.
For smoother content creation, the platform is refining the editing experience for in-progress reels by providing users with a comprehensive view of their saved drafts. This upcoming feature will allow users to preview, rename, and schedule their drafts in advance.
Furthermore, Instagram is working on enabling users to create custom stickers using their own photos and videos from the camera roll or eligible content on the platform. They are also testing the ability to create custom stickers from videos, expanding creative possibilities.
Additionally, the platform is enhancing insights for reels, introducing a new Reels metric called Replays and updating the definition of Reels Plays to include Replays alongside Initial Plays. This change might lead to an increase in Reels Plays for creators. Furthermore, they plan to roll out an interactive Retention Chart, allowing creators to track moment-by-moment viewership of their Reels in the coming months.
These updates are aimed at providing creators with more tools and insights to elevate their content and better understand its performance on the platform.
