Former Twitter Security Head Files Lawsuit Against Musk, X Alleging Unlawful Termination

Rosa, who served as the head of global information technology and information security, claimed he was dismissed without cause and no explanation was given for his termination. According to the lawsuit, Elon Musk granted broad authority to Steve Davis, who allegedly initiated cuts to Twitter's products and services, jeopardizing compliance with the Twitter FTC Consent Decree.

Former Twitter IT security head, Alan Rosa, has filed a lawsuit against Twitter, its owner Elon Musk, and company adviser Steve Davis, alleging wrongful termination for protesting cost-cutting measures that could compromise Twitter's legal compliance.

Rosa objected to Davis's directive to cut the physical security budget by 50% within hours, stating it could lead to a violation of court orders to store devices under litigation. Five days after his objection, Twitter allegedly revoked Rosa's access and terminated his employment without notice.

The lawsuit also claimed that Twitter intentionally terminated Rosa just before he was to receive bonus compensation and the vesting of 5.82 million shares expected over the next three years. Although promised a severance package, vesting, bonus, and two months of paid COBRA benefits, Twitter allegedly withheld these benefits, citing an investigation into Rosa's conduct during his employment as the reason.

Rosa contends that the investigation was a pretext to deprive him of his severance package and other company benefits, characterizing it as a "sham investigation."

The legal action sheds light on internal disputes regarding cost-cutting measures and potential conflicts between prioritizing security compliance and financial considerations within the company.
