Speaking at X, Tesla CEO Elon Musk implored users of his platform to share in-depth articles and embrace citizen journalism. Some had already risen to the call with a number of lengthy pieces to X, signifying the move of some serious Uganda challenging traditional media outlets.
One user expressed gratitude to Musk for giving birth to a platform that supports citizen journalism, urging that they had published their first X Article. Responding to their post, Musk commented that there should be a lot more long articles posted on X, bringing to the board his agenda of substantive content.
Another user applauded the idea and even was thrilled at how very engaging everything was going to be on X, thanks to plenty of content.
When Musk visited the US-Mexico border in September, he live-streamed as he explored the region, plus he urged others to do the same. This is for the reason of exploring the power of citizen journalism in driving preferable change. He, however, insisted that it is so easy to live video from any phone.
What's more, Musk called on reporters to publish directly to X, promising higher pay, and published the platform on open source. It's also designed XWire, a news distribution platform, which will offer another platform in sharing company news and press release, rather than depending on conventional news services.
In summary, what Musk does is seen to be that of challenging the traditional news platforms that have kept X in shadows by ensuring, in his platform, readers find all the information they need, including company updates and citizen-led journalism.
