Elon Musk recently congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming the most followed world leader on leading social network X.
"Congratulations PM @NarendraModi on being the most followed world leader!" post from Musk reads.
The current prime minister, Narendra Modi, has gained a mammoth following of 100.1 million on the platform, showcasing his enormous presence and influence on the website. Welcoming the milestone earlier this week, Modi took to X and said that he wants to share his thoughts on this platform but has respect for the dynamic interaction, discussions, bringing out people's insights, and even constructive criticism this platform facilitates.
"Hundred million followers on @X! Delighted to be part of this vibrant medium; enriching the discussion, debate, insights, people's blessings, constructive criticism and more," Modi said in his message, heaping praise on the new feat.
Now, Modi has more followers than most global leaders and luminaries; many of them are way, way behind him in their count— like US President Joe Biden, HH Sheikh Mohammed of Dubai, or even Pope Francis. Actually, his following on X eclipses even the likes of prominent athletes and celebrities such as Virat Kohli, Neymar Jr, or LeBron James.
While PM Modi's X handle has added almost 30 million users in the last three years alone, the numbers clearly indicate enhanced effectiveness as his influence rises in the Digital Age. His enormous following is maintained on YouTube at almost 25 million subscribers and on Instagram at over 91 million followers.
Modi had joined the platform way back in 2009 and has since continued to build up a strong online presence with effects heard around the world.
