Recently, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, took to OpenAI, led by Sam Altman, saying their latest unveiling of the AI model was cringe. Ashley St Clair took to X to say that with this ability, the ability of AI to perceive reality in real-time, the post-truth era was troublingly being replaced.
Musk, a vocal OpenAI adversary, joined in on the vitriol, saying that the demo made him cringe. Other X users are feverishly expecting a new version of the demo, asking for a Grok version of the demo, also a kind of xAI.
Earlier this year, Musk sued OpenAI and its leader, Altman, for violation of original contracts because they refused cooperation in building AI as agreed. OpenAI responded by saying Musk had demanded either a merger with Tesla or an absolute takeover, which ran contrary to their mission.
According to Altman, Musk had left OpenAI, thinking the company would fail.
Meanwhile, developers of ChatGPT recently launched a new flagship model in an online live-streamed event: GPT-4o. This new model is as intelligent as the GPT-4; however, it is improved in speed and capability on text, voice, and vision. Notably, ChatGPT now supports over 50 languages.
