WATCH: Roger Federer breaks down during emotional farewell at Laver Cup

Swiss tennis player Roger Federer played his last match while teaming up with Rafael Nadal for a doubles match that they lost to the American duo Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe at the Laver Cup, on Friday Night. Federer had announced last week that the Laver Cup would be his final ATP tournament. The 41-year-old, the winner of 20 Grand Slam singles titles, 103 tour-level titles who spent 310 weeks at No. 1 in the ATP Rankings, first faced Nadal in 2004 at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Miami.

After the match, no one there could handle their emotions. Roger Federer had said, in the pre-match press conference, that he did not want his farewell game to be a 'funeral' where everyone is crying. However, when the moment finally came, the Swiss great could not handle his own emotions. Several tennis players, including Rafael Nadal, Iga Swiatek, and Chris Evert among others, gave an emotional farewell to Swiss ace Roger Federer.
