Warner: 'I'd Be Nervous in Their Batting Order' Ahead of India-Australia Duel

Just one week since an unprecedented 3-0 loss at home to New Zealand-their first Test series loss in 12 years-another daunting challenge presents itself: a five-Test series against Australia beginning Nov. 22 in Perth.

David Warner, one of the players who has said goodbye to international cricket this year, remarked that he would feel pretty nervous batting for the Indian line-up, coming from the subpar shows against New Zealand in their 3-0 loss in the recent series.

"That was absolutely incredible from New Zealand. And congratulations to Tom (Latham) and the boys there. I look back at that first Test which they played and they picked some amazing catches and that sets the tone.".

"If you're catching that sort of catches, then leading the series one-nil, it's a big thing. I understand how tough it is to win over here. They've just done absolutely something outstanding, and the credits go to them.".

"And it assists the Australian blokes. They are coming out here after getting thrashed at home three-nil for five Tests against the Australian lads, who have three world-class seamers and a world-class spinner, and I would be nervous if I was in they're batting lineup. I would be nervous," Warner told Fox Sports.

He also believes that Australian top order should find a way in which they can tackle Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. He feels that pacer Mohammed Shami might play in the series at some point despite being ruled out of the original squad due to his continued recovery from the ankle injury.

"The Australian top order… needs to make runs. They've got Mohammed Shami, who's currently on the road to recovery with the knee- he potentially could be out here with the team -(and) you have Bumrah and Siraj who are their spearheads.".

"I think if Australia can get through those two gentlemen, there could be some big runs put on the board. But … we're going to have to come out with our chest out against India. We have lost our last two series here against India (and) they have got a lot to play for.".

Warner signed off by warning that the quartet of captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will be looking to make the most of what little time they have left in Australia as the clock ticks on for them.

"They have some older guys in their team. I know the Australian cricket team have got a lot over 30 as well but you have got Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ashwin, Jadeja, you got these guys there who are in the back end of their careers as well, so there's a lot to play for there as well, and whether or not they finish their careers this year or next year, they will want to finish on a high. I know those guys very, very well and they will be so determined to come out here and score big runs."
