Rahul Dravid is poised to transition from his role as the head coach of the Indian cricket team, concluding his tenure with the culmination of the ODI World Cup 2023. Reports suggest that he is likely to join Lucknow Super Giants as a mentor for the IPL 2024 season.

The frontrunner to succeed Dravid in the coaching role is VVS Laxman, the current head of the National Cricket Academy. Laxman has been filling in for Dravid in his absence and might assume the coaching responsibilities permanently after the India vs Australia T20I series, as per a Sports Tak report.

It has been noted that Dravid, following the ODI World Cup, has engaged in discussions with Lucknow Super Giants and is considering a mentoring role with the team. A meeting is scheduled to address the future of coaching and the team, involving key stakeholders.

During Dravid's tenure, India enjoyed a remarkable run in the ODI World Cup, securing victory in 10 consecutive matches. Despite this success, the Rohit Sharma-led side fell short of claiming the trophy, succumbing to defeat against Australia in the tournament's final.
