Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag and his wife Aarti Ahlawat are reportedly separating after 20 years of marriage. According to a report in Hindustan Times, Sehwag and Aarti have apparently stopped following each other on the social media platform Instagram, which has sparked the divorce rumors.
Virender and Aarti have two kids together - Aryaveer (born in 2007) and Vedant (born in 2010). The report from HT also suggested that the couple, who got married in 2004, have been living separately for several months.
Sehwag's recent Diwali celebration post had his sons and mother in the pictures but there were no signs or mention of Aarti which has only added fuel to the rumours of separation.
A couple of weeks ago, Sehwag had visited the Vishwa Nagayakshi Temple in Palakkad and the post from the trip contained no reference to Aarti. While both are yet to release an official statement, the couple's public distancing has become the hot topic of the town.
Basically, Aarti Ahlawat is from New Delhi and keeps low profile. Born on 16 December 1980, she passed out from Lady Irwin Secondary School and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Moreover, she received a PGD diploma in Computer Science from Maitreyi College, Delhi University.
Virender and Aarti love story
The love story of the couple started in the early 2000s and finally ended up in a lavish wedding in 2004 at the residence of former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. They have been considered a perfect couple over the years, with Virender balancing his cricketing career with their family life.
However, according to reports, their relationship was not going too well for quite some time and that is the reason they are now parting ways.
Virender retired from international cricket in 2015 and has since been involved in various activities, including serving as a member of the Anti-Doping Appeal Panel of the National Anti-Doping Agency. While he has largely kept his personal life private, recent developments have brought it under public scrutiny.
Although neither Virender nor Aarti has made an official statement, signs of their separation are becoming increasingly apparent.
