Indian captain Virat kohli on Wednesday paid an emotional tribute to outgoing coaching staff Ravi Shashtri, Bharat Arun, and R. Sridhar for their immense contributions to Indian cricket.
The three Member coaching staff are relieved from their duties after the T20 World Cup as their tenure came to end on Monday.
Prior to India’s failure in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup in UAE, where the team could not make it to the semi-final, the trio helped Team India become a formidable travelling unit in Test cricket, winning the series in Australia and leading 2-1 in England.
India’s performance in T20Is also sky-rocketed under their tenure as they won series in South Africa, New Zealand, England and Australia.
"Thank you for all the memories and the amazing journey we've had as a team with you all. Your contribution has been immense and will always be remembered in Indian cricket history," Kohli, who has given up T20 captaincy, wrote on twitter.
"Wish you the best moving forward in life. Until next time," he added.
Shastri has been replaced by former India captain Rahul Dravid as India head coach while Rohit Sharma is India's new T20 captain.
It is also expected that Rohit will take over the ODI captaincy as well during India's next session.
