Mohammad Rizwan has been reinstated as the captain of the Vancouver Knights for GT20 Canada 2024, and quite literally, he has just proved to be an overdose to the leadership qualities shown by Babar Azam. Citing an official statement, the franchise expressed confidence in Rizwan due to his adroit batting skills and razor-sharp wicketkeeping abilities that become bound to steer the team toward success. Although Rizwan has never skippered Pakistan in the international arena, he recently led Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League.
In contrast, Babar Azam is currently the skipper of the Pakistan national team and captains Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL. On the Vancouver Knights, there are a bunch of Pakistani cricketers who will be benefiting alongside Rizwan, such as current captain Babar Azam, seasoned fast bowler Mohammad Amir, and middle-order batsman Asif Ali. The International talent includes Dwaine Pretorius, Sandeep Lamichhane, Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee, and the Namibian pair of Paul van Meekeren and Ruben Trumpelmann.
GT20 Canada League Season four of the GT20 Canada league is all set to be contested from July 25 to August 11 in Brampton, where the world shall have its eyes on the Canadian stage for an exciting display of cricketing talent.
