The Telangana government has sanctioned a 600-square-yard residential plot in Hyderabad to Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj. This plot, located in the posh locality of Jubilee Hills, was given free of cost under an order by the state government on Friday. According to the order of the Revenue Department, the land is located on Road No. 78 in Jubilee Hills.

On the request by Siraj, District Collector, Hyderabad, a proposal was sent to the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration for the allotment of land. Then the Telangana Land Management Authority took up the proposal for scrutiny and recommended the allotment.

Earlier this month, the state Cabinet had resolved to allote similar plots to shooter Esha Singh and two-time world boxing champion Nikhat Zareen, including Siraj. It had also resolved to offer Group-1 jobs to both Nikhat Zareen and Siraj.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced the achievements of Siraj and the Indian win of the T20 World Cup in a statement in the State Assembly. Pointing out that Siraj did not have the requisite educational qualification required for a Group-1 post, the Cabinet had accorded exemption to him. With this, Siraj could join as Deputy Superintendent of Police or other similar high ranking posts if he wanted a career in the police force.
