Team Changes Unveiled: Jadeja and K.L. Rahul Ruled Out of Second Test Against England; Sarfaraz, Washington, Sourabh Called Up

To bolster the squad, the men's selection committee has added Sarfaraz Khan, a right-handed batter, left-arm spinner Sourabh Kumar, and off-spin all-rounder Washington Sundar for the Visakhapatnam Test.

India faces setbacks as left-arm spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and middle-order batter K.L Rahul are ruled out of the upcoming second Test against England in Visakhapatnam, starting on February 2. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury during India's chase in the fourth day of the first Test in Hyderabad, while Rahul reported right quadriceps pain. Both players are under medical supervision.

In addition, Saransh Jain will replace Sundar in the India A squad for the third multi-day game against England Lions in Ahmedabad from February 1. Fast-bowler Avesh Khan will continue with his Ranji Trophy team Madhya Pradesh but remains on standby to join the Test squad if needed.

India, currently trailing 1-0 in the five-game series after losing the opening Test in Hyderabad by 28 runs, aims to regroup for the second Test at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. The updated squad includes Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, KS Bharat (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Avesh Khan, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, and Sourabh Kumar.
