Indian tennis sensation Sumit Nagal started his campaign at the Marrakesh Open on a positive note, advancing to the second round after a thrilling victory over France's Corentin Moutet at the ATP 250 tournament held in Morocco.
Ranked 95th in the world, Nagal displayed remarkable resilience as he battled past Moutet with a scoreline of 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the opening match of the Grand Prix Hassan II event. This victory was particularly significant considering Nagal's previous defeat against the same opponent in the Challenger final in Helsinki last year.
In the upcoming round, Nagal is set to face off against the fourth-seeded Italian player Lorenzo Sonego. This encounter is reminiscent of their clash in the first round of the Dubai Championships earlier this year.
