Shubman Gill Reclaims No.1 ODI Batter Spot, Surpasses Babar; Theekshana Tops Bowling Rankings

This is the second time Gill has topped the ranking in ODIs, having previously surpassed Babar during the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. The 25-year-old's recent century against England in Ahmedabad was key to him rising to the top.

Shubman Gill has regained the No.1 position in the current ICC Men's ODI batting rankings from previous Pakistan skipper Babar Azam. Gill tops the rankings with 796 rating points, and Babar is in second position with a 23-point deficit.

This is the second time Gill has topped the ranking in ODIs, having previously surpassed Babar during the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. The 25-year-old's recent century against England in Ahmedabad was key to him rising to the top.

India captain Rohit Sharma is still third, 45 rating points behind Gill. South African Heinrich Klaasen (756) and New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell (740) are the other two in the top five. Sri Lanka's Charith Asalanka has moved eight places to eighth, while Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan has moved six places to a career-best 15th.

In the bowling rankings, Sri Lanka's Maheesh Theekshana has usurped Afghanistan's Rashid Khan to take the No.1 spot. Theekshana's stellar performances against Australia, including a four-wicket haul in Colombo, propelled him ahead of Rashid, who is now second, 11 rating points behind.

India's Kuldeep Yadav has climbed a place to fourth, South Africa's Keshav Maharaj re-enters the top 10 at sixth, and New Zealand's Mitchell Santner has climbed four places to seventh.

Among the all-rounders, Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi retains the number one ranking, and Santner has moved up one place to sixth.
