He started the series off with a calm 87 in Nagpur, a solid 60 in Cuttack, and then looked to finish it off with a match-winning century in Ahmedabad. His 112-run innings, skillfully built off a mere 102 balls, contained 14 fours and three sixes. He received the Player of the Match award as well as the Player of the Series award for this innings.

Gill took his scintillating form with him into the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, starting the tournament with an unbeaten 101 in India's chase to victory against Bangladesh in Dubai. He then complemented it with a vital 46 against Pakistan, playing an important role in India's consecutive victories in the beginning stages of the tournament.
