Manchester City has put their name in golden letters of the English Premier League history after winning the four consecutive titles of the English Premier League as the first team in 2023-24. Manchester City has come to the Indian capital city as part of the Champions 4-in-a-row Trophy Tour for this achievement of the team.
Manchester City has brought the English Premier League trophy to New Delhi in celebration of the historical success with the Club World Cup and Community Shield trophies.
But before that, the trophies will travel with former Manchester City and England winger Shaun Wright-Phillips on a range of activities for Cityzens in India. That will start with a fan event on September 22, where fans are invited to watch Manchester City take on Arsenal FC at Vegas Mall.
Speaking on the tour in general, Club Legend Wright-Phillips said, "We're really looking forward to visiting India as part of the Club's Champions 4-in-a-row tour. The club were fortunate enough to visit last year and we're excited to interact with our fan base in India again, as we bring the Premier League, Club World Cup and Community Shield Trophies around the world."
He also added about the tie against Arsenal FC, "Our latest visit also coincides with our important Premier League fixture against Arsenal which fans can watch at a special fan event and screening on the Sunday".
After an electrifying season of 2023/24, there are high hopes from the Cityzens to add more glory, and their spearheads include Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland.
Coming into the game against Arsenal, the defending champions are on top of the Premier League with 12 points after four wins in as many games.
A part of the Champions-4-in-A-Row Trophy Tour is to offer free coaching courses to the local community and grassroots coaches for healthier lives through football. This forms part of Manchester City's aim at upskilling over 150 community coaches in leaving a meaningful mark in five cities.
