At a recently held Indian community programme in Moscow, he promised his government's grand objectives and a range of initiatives for his third term. He is going to take India to the position of the third-largest economy across the world, besides delivering commitments for 'three crore homes' to be built for the poor and empowering 'three crore Lakhpati didis' through women self-help groups in rural areas.
Experimental women who have been empowered with skills and support in their village communities are known as "lakhpati didis," he explained. Modi said these objectives could be achieved only with the support and blessings of people like him. His visit to Moscow comes at a time when, at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin of Russia, the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit gets underway.
