PKL 10 Update: Dabang Delhi Captain Naveen Kumar Ruled Out for the Rest of the Season Due to Injury

Dabang Delhi KC's captain and star raider, Naveen Kumar, will no longer be part of the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 20 due to a knee injury, as announced by the PKL franchise on Thursday.

The injury occurred during a match against Jaipur Pink Panthers on December 27, leading to Naveen undergoing surgery, which entails a recovery period of over six months.

The PKL franchise released a statement, stating, "Following the injury sustained on December 27th against Jaipur, Naveen Kumar of Dabang Delhi K.C. will be unable to continue participating in the current season of Pro Kabaddi League 10."

According to the statement, Naveen will undergo right-knee ligament surgery under the guidance of medical experts. Dabang Delhi K.C.'s management is actively overseeing his comprehensive treatment plan, which includes various therapies and surgical procedures. Naveen has been a standout performer this season, achieving the milestone of becoming the fastest player in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League to reach 1000 raid points.

Expressing the team's sentiments, Durganath Wagle, C.E.O. of Dabang Delhi Kabaddi Club, commented, "Naveen has been a prominent leader and a key factor in Dabang Delhi's success over the years. His injury is a setback for our team, and we extend our support to him during these challenging times. His leadership and exceptional performances have played a vital role for us, and we are fully committed to ensuring he receives the best possible care during his rehabilitation."

In the absence of Naveen Kumar, Ashu Malik will take on the role of leading the team for the remainder of the tournament. Despite the setback, Dabang Delhi KC currently holds the 2nd position in the points table, having secured four consecutive wins.
