Pakistan managed to stay afloat in the T20 World Cup after posting a much-needed seven-wicket win over Canada in a crucial Group A league match on Tuesday.
Canada batted first and scored a below par 106 for seven as Pakistan bowlers once again ruled the roost. The main run-scorer for the Canadians was Aaron Johnson, who scored a good 52 off 44 balls. Only Johnson was the person who put up some resistance for the Canadian batting attack.
At 21 for the loss of no starter yet, the Pakistan bowlers were in good juices, taking two each, with Mohammad Amir giving only 13 and Haris Rauf 26.
In reply, Pakistan got to the target of 138 in 17.3 overs, with an unbeaten 53 from Mohammad Rizwan and a calm 33 from captain Babar Azam. Dilon Heyliger was the pick of the bowlers for Canada with two scalps, bowling at an economy of just 18.
