Striking the ball cleanly off both wings from the baseline and deploying his drop shot to good effect throughout, the Spaniard converted five of seven break points against the Bulgarian's serve to wrap up an impressive 72-minute win. In a near-flawless opening, Alcaraz's all-around game left Dimitrov with few chances to counter.

Belgium and Netherlands to jointly host 2026 women's and men's hockey World Cups
The combined event will take place in July or August 2026 in Amsterdam/Amstelveen, Netherlands and Wavre, Belgium, with female and male teams playing in both venues, the FIH informed in a release on Thursday. To gain entry into the Gulf country after the conclusion of the group stage on December 2, non-ticketed fans will have to obtain a Hayya card, a key document introduced by Qatar for the tournament. "Timo Werner suffered an ankle injury last night in the win over Shakhtar Donetsk. Scans today in Leipzig showed that he has unfortunately torn the syndesmosis ligament in his left ankle and will therefore be out for the rest of 2022," the German football club said in a tweet.
