This is the first time that Australia have made the gesture on home soil, alongside the West Indies players before the series opener. The West Indies have been taking a knee in all international fixtures since 2020. Zampa said he and the team was proud of Cummins' stance to urge the players to make the gesture although the pace spearhead has been accused of pushing a 'woke' agenda.
Several England cricketers laid low by bug on eve of Test series opener against Pakistan: Report
England are touring Pakistan for the first time in 17 years for a three-Test series and a report in Daily Mail said on Wednesday that less than 24 hours before the first ball is bowled, at least a dozen players in Ben Stokes' party have been laid low by the bug. The report added that it is unknown whether England will be forced to make changes to the team they had announced on Tuesday.

When rain arrived, New Zealand were at 104/1 in 18 overs and DLS calculations showed that they were ahead by 50 runs. But to constitute a full match, 20 overs were needed to be completed in the second innings. But with rain washing out the prospect of playing out remaining two overs for a result, New Zealand clinched the series 1-0.

Apart from him, Shreyas Iyer also played a handy knock of 49 as rest of the batters struggled and perished to a disciplined bowling show by New Zealand. For the hosts, Daryl Mitchell being used as the fifth bowler was a master-stroke, picking 3/25 in his seven overs.
