However, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who is also the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), last year had made it clear that the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan for the Continental championship and demanded that the event be moved to a neutral venue.

Both Atsu, 31, and his Hatayspor Sporting Director Taner Savut were left under rubble after the quake, according to Turkish media reports. "We pray for Ghana International Christian Atsu and victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. We continue with our efforts to establish contact with officials of Hataspor and the Turkish Football Federation, considering the difficult situation," Ghana Football Association tweeted.

Finch, Australian Men's T20 Captain, announced his retirement from all international cricket, 12 years after making his debut. Having retired from One-Day Internationals in September 2022 after playing 146 matches, Finch has now decided to step away from T20 Internationals after playing 103 matches, where he averaged 34.28 at a strike rate of 142.5.
