Andy Murray opts out of Australian Open

Murray had been granted a wildcard to play in the tournament's main draw but he tested positive for Covid-19 last week shortly before he was due to fly to Melbourne. The 33-year-old was asymptomatic, and still, had hoped to participate in 2021's first grand slam. However, he was unable to agree upon a "workable quarantine" after talks with Tennis Australia.
'See you soon': Stokes heads to India ahead of Test series

On Sunday, Stokes posted a picture of himself travelling on a plane with a caption: "See you soon India". The Joe Root-led England are currently in Sri Lanka, taking part in the two-Test series. India, on the other hand, have returned from the successful Australia tour which saw them clinch the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in a thrilling fashion.

Zinedine Zidane was not in the dugout on Saturday evening after testing positive for the coronavirus, but his side didn't seem to miss his presence as they took a 3-0 lead before halftime. Casemiro opened the scoring with a header from a Toni Kroos cross following a corner, Eden Hazard then set up Karim Benzema to make it 2-0 in the 41st minute, before scoring himself from another Kroos pass in first-half injury time.
Former Ireland cricketer Roy Torrens passes away at 72

A right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler, Torrens debuted for Ireland on July 20, 1966 v Middlesex at Ormeau (Cap Number 507). He was capped 30 times between 1966 and 1984, taking 77 wickets at 25.66 apiece, and a best of 7/40. After playing retirement, Torrens became president of the Irish Cricket Union in 2000, and in 2004 the Ireland men's team manager -- a role he held for 12 years.
Indian Super League: 10-man FC Goa hold Kerala Blasters to 1-1 draw

Goa took the lead through a 25th minute strike from Jorge Ortiz Mendoza. Rahul KP then scored the equaliser for Kerala Blasters in the 57th minute with a brilliant header. Goa were reduced to 10 men in the 65th minute with Ivan Gonzalez received two yellow cards within seconds. Goa started with what they do the best -- intriguing short passes, maintaining maximum ball possession, and keeping Kerala on the back foot.

Pietersen posted screenshots of the mail on his twitter handle an that India batting great Rahul Dravid had written to him on a day when Sibley and Crawley fell on five and a duck respectively to Sri Lanka spinner Lasith Embuldeniya in the second Test in Galle, Sri Lanka. Pietersen had reached out to Dravid after a poor tour of Bangladesh in 2010 after which the latter had sent the mail to the former batsman.

Kuldeep likely to play Tests vs England, hints team management

Incidentally, the last Test Kuldeep played was during the previous tour of Australia in 2018-19. He played in Sydney in 2019 and picked five wickets. Altogether he has played six Tests. On the recently-concluded Australia tour, he played just one ODI and a warm-up game.

In the ongoing 2020-21 edition of the Indian Super League (ISL), the Manipur-born winger has appeared in all 12 games for Jamshedpur and has three assists to his name so far. One of the most experienced players in the ISL, Jackichand has 85 league appearances to his name and has turned out FC Pune City, Kerala Blasters FC and FC Goa as well.
